Caring for our
Church Family
We are a family of God's people. Through our brother Jesus, God has
called us all to be His children. And while God is revealed through the
wonders of creation and the whispering and the roaring of the Spirit, we
perhaps most often experience His love through the people around us.
Joys and sorrows are shared within our church family when we gather for
worship or meetings, and also through our e-mail prayer chain. Our
Minister of Visitation and Pastor provides caring support to members who are ill, hospitalized,
bereaved, preparing for marriage, going through divorce, or facing other
crises.
The fellowship of good food brings us closer together as we gather to
celebrate weddings, remember friends who have died, or simply to chat
after worship services. Meals unite us in service at work days, planning
meetings, and training sessions. Yet, food unites us in fun as well as
work, through our picnics and ice cream socials, and at our family game
parties.
Our church offers fellowship opportunities through groups for men,
women, singles, and parents, and youth of all ages. We keep in touch
with our members through cards, letters, phone calls, and personal
visits. Not wanting anyone to be left out, we provide rides to church
for members who are unable to come on their own. Our Crossway
newsletter, annual reports, Sunday bulletins, and e-mail prayer requests
also help sustain our common life.
"And let us consider
how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not
give up meeting together, . . . but let us encourage one another . . . .
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)"
